No Scott, no wetting out at all. When you feel the material, it's hard to imagine that it ever could wet out ... it's nothing like any other shell material.

Ta for that, Stu. The material looks almost like a plastic, which I'm presuming is where it's getting its water resistance from.

Not only does it look like my favourite bin bag, it feels like it too. :-bd The initial feeling of 'I've just bought a very expensive pac-a-mac' will go once you try it as it appears to breath very well. Whether it's as good as Goretex or eVent is hard to say but I'll happily take a little clamminess in exchange for keeping the winter out for days at a time.

Same (limited) experience in mine i.e. keeps the water out (better than other cags I've had), has the look of a souwester, is quieter than the appearance would suggest.

I have yet to really work a sweat up in it as opportunities to be out in the rain and working hard have been few since I got it.

Interested in the stretchy one they do (it's the black one currently on SP) but not convinced it's worth spending £85 for another outdry cag. How many can I need

Sizing? I find US clothing to be a bit "generous" so thinking of going Small rather than Medium.

They're a boxy cut and do run larger than size IMO. I'm usually XL and wear large.

I heard from some others that they're not very breathable, although being very waterproof they were getting condensation issues

Still interested in giving it a go, but also hoping that the shakedry fabric can be developed to be more robust

I want to be able to wear a pack with it

Mine's medium Colin - it fits but I wouldn't want it to be any bigger.

I’ve got one, too. No more sweaty than my Montane Event and 100% more waterproof.

I've just ordered a Columbia Outdry Ex Eco Tech Shell. I've looked at the various Outdry jackets that have come up on this thread with envy. I was keen on the eco version when I found out about it - it might not be important to everybody, but it is to me, and it seems to be a genuine step towards making waterproof stuff more environmentally-friendly, which was something I struggled to see happening. To be honest, just the fact that it'll last a long time without needing reproofing makes in much more "eco." I'd even convinced myself that the undyed white colour was a price worth paying. I didn't want the insulated version, which is the only one they have on SP, but I found a different grey version elsewhere.

I ordered it from here, with a bit of change out of £80 including postage after the using the discount code "extra10" (valid til Monday I think):

I was, and am still, a bit skeptical, given I've never heard of them (unsurprising since they're a fashion shop), and there are some bad reviews on Trustpilot (https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.thehut.com). However, they seem to be a legit business with customer service issues rather than an out-and-out scam, and given how much cheaper they are, I think it's a risk worth taking. I'm prepared to get a "whoops it's actually not in stock" or "wait, did we say £80? we meant £180" email, but as long as I get my money back, I'll accept it. I'll report back either way.

Probikekit is in the same group of companies. Not had any issues when ordering from them so hopefully you'll be okay.

Also MyProtein, who are fine. As a standalone store The Hut used to be garbage though.

That's positive. Keeping my fingers crossed, but more hopeful.

Have you actually ordered anything and got the discount? Wittering on STW is that it's just a glitch / that VAT isnt added until checkout.

My Columbia jacket arrived so no problems with the supplier.

Although the medium I ordered fits fairly nicely, the arms are a little short for riding and I'm slightly regretting not getting a large for layering purposes.

Continuing the jacket saga... I've ordered a large. Anyone here want the medium before I send it back? I notice it's now out of stock. I won't get the discount on both (though they say they'll transfer it if I return the medium), so £95 posted.

What height are you TNW? I was dithering over M or L - 6' here and don't need room in the body, was thinking of the M but arm length often is a bit short on M jackets.

I've offered it to Scattamah on the post I put in the classifieds now (sorry) but I'm 6'1", fairly slim build. There's pictures on the link I posted before and it says the model is also 6'1" and I saw that and thought "well it fits him" without following it up with "but he's not riding his bike is he?" I think he might have shorter arms than me too. I'm not overly hopeful the arms on the large will be as long as I'd like them either TBH, but at least they'll be a bit better. HTH
