That all said, how comparable is it to stick welding? I was okay at that in college but utterly abyssmal at brazing (exploding work pieces a-plenty)
Certainly no harder than stick welding and you may find the results better.

It still works for me (I just checked the link I posted above). Maybe try a different browser?

Rockrun have the Blue Ice Dragonfly 25l pack for £50. However, they also have an offer where you get one free when you spend £45+ on Blue Ice gear. I’ve ordered two for £50, hopefully they arrive so I can sell one.

https://rockrun.com/products/blue-ice-d ... 25l-yellow

Looks like a nice and basic pack, better back pad than an Alpkit Gourdon, but sacrificing waterproofing.

Thanks for the Polaris tip. Bought one of the jackets recommended by Scotroutes to replace my tatty soft shell, and went a bit mad in the sale section to get free postage

Yeah, I got one of the Scotroutes jackets as well and having used it a few times already can say that it's become my go to cold weather jacket. I also just got one of the Hexon waterproof jackets as well which I carried with me on a ride today but didn't wear as it didn't rain. It looks pretty decent though and packs smaller than my other waterproofs (which was what I was looking for).

Some very good prices on USWE packs in their Winter sale. I have one of the lightweight technical ones and they are amazing, you don't know you are wearing them.

37.5% off Halfords unbranded tubes. Buy 4 for £10. Normally £4 each. And you can mix and match, so for example: 1 x 26, 1 x 27.5, 1 x 29 and 1 x 700. Other permutations available ;-)

Although this appears to be online only, I did manage to persuade the staff at Halfords Hereford to setup an online order whilst I waited and pay COD.

That looks like a great bag for the money. I had to laugh at "trapezoidal mesh wall baffles" though. "''Ere, check out the trapezoidal mesh wall baffles on this!" I'm sure someone clever spent a lot of time coming up with that design feature, and I'm sure it was worthwhile, but I can't work out what it could possibly mean.

Just looking at that and I noticed there's also a 400g fill here:
https://www.millets.co.uk/tents-camping ... g-red.html
£109 but also has the %15 code (comes to around £93)
