Looking for a <600 gms sub zero sleeping bag?

I’m looking for a really good sleeping bag that doesn’t weigh a lot and is good for a light frost.

I’m relatively slim so am specifically looking at slimmer bags. I also like bags that have more fill on the top than then bottom.

My shortlist is currently a Cumulus x-lite 400 and a Thermarest Hyperion 20 UL

Both coming in around 250 quids.

Any other ideas?

PHD have the Minim 350 on 'sale' at £288. Rated to -2C 630g

I expect its toasty warm. The Minimus +5 bag would be fine too but thats still £329 though is under 500g

Does it have to be a bag? I have a Cumulus quilt and its lighter and pack smaller for the same performance

My regular user is the Cumulus 350, packs nicely and keeps me warm from spring 'til autumn. Mine is the older model and I can't remember what changes they've made since, around 580g on my scales and good for around freezing imho, I'm not the warmest sleeper though since I had my thyroid out a few years ago.

Quilts are great if you're happy just lying on a bare mat, I sleep clothed so it's not an issue for me. If you're a big chap make sure it's wide enough to give cover, a skinny quilt could give you some chilly drafts if you toss and turn.

Phd are lovely, about the best quality down you'll find this side of the pond. I have the Minim 300 from 2010, great bag just lacks a draft collar. The Minim range are snug, not sure about their other bags, they taper quite a lot from the waist down, suits my shape well but I know others can find them constricting.

Some of the modern synthetic quilt options are worth a look too if you camp in minging weather a lot or like to use a minimal shelter setup, my Apex 200 quilt isn't much bigger in the pack than my down equivalent

We've got a couple of quilts, a Western Mountaineering one and a Cumulus, whilst great in warmer conditions, in colder weather I definitely sleep better in a bag.
