Trp hy rd owners?

Post by Al »

Picked up a used set of trp hyrd callipers a while back and they’ve sat on the bench for while waiting to try them (I know there was quite a lot of scepticism in a previous thread but don’t want to drag that out again).

Anyway cleaned them up, fitted some new pads and stuck one on the front of the bike. Didn’t actually ride anywhere as spinning the wheel in the stand they couldn’t actually stop it and I don’t fancy dying! I can move the little piston all the way in and it still doesn’t move the pads enough to stop the wheel.
I’m thinking bleeding could help but looks like I need to track down a special threaded connector to do this. So before I chuck any money at the problem does anyone else have a set and has experienced this? And does that sound a sensible next step?
