While hunting through the cavernous local Go Outdoors for a new pillow I stumbled over their in-house brand bivvy bag.
I was quite impressed by the size, weight and price of it and thought it looked a decent alternative to Alpkit's Hunka XL.
Here's a quick comparison:
Hunka XL / OEX
Price £69 / £39
Weight 500g / 450g
Size 235x98cm / 245x95cm
HH 10,000mm / 5,000mm
As there's plenty of high end tents offering floor fabric with only 3,000mm HH, e.g. MSR Hubba Hubba, I thought it was worth a go. I've already got an Alpkit Hunka (non XL) and while I can fit my mat inside it's not particularly comfortable and the down gets compressed so I wake up cold.
Packed volume looks slightly bigger than the Hunka, and I image a bit smaller than the XL.

Here's some images in case anyone else can't see them...
There are theories at the bottom of my jargon.

When I worked in the outdoors industry, many of the reps would say you’d need ~8k HH to kneel/sit in a puddle of water and not get wet.
Not sure how true it is?!
