Unsuitable bike for bike packing

We've all got what we think is our (near) perfect bike packing bikes.

Why don't we have an in suitable bike bike packing trip out somewhere?

In the corner of my garage I'd be able to dig out a 26er beach cruiser single speed with only a coaster brake.

I'm tempted to try that on the coast near me (in good weather)

What would your in suitable bike be?

My two speed Brompton. Although I have seen plenty of people touring the NCN on them. So I suppose it depends how far off road you are going.

I've never seen a yellow 3 speed shopper out bikepacking. It would be a showcase event for something like that :-bd

This is an interesting read about someone who cycled 9000km along the Iron curtain on an East German built shopper!

Wasn't it "on display" as a bikepacker at one of the BB events?

What about Graeme Obree’s Old Faithful or the Miguel Indurain Espada bike?

I could use one of my Raleigh burners hanging up in my workshop?

Plenty of attachment points on the crossbar for all my lights and GPS. Skyways for an end to broken wheels and knobbly tyres, what more could you want?

The ability to sit down and pedal, without my knees hitting my ears...

I've pack rafted and bike packed an overnighter on a canal trip on my single speed folding Decathalon bike several months back too
