Scotland gravel tracks
Have some time off tomorrow for 12. Considering taking the van and camino upto scotland but not sure what to do or wheres best to ride. I dont wanna stay out just day rides from the van i think....tarmac n gravel anyone got any route ideas... i fancy a day over to applecross and some riding up the coast maybe. Any ideas folks ta

Not much in the way of "gravel" tracks over that way. Topology mostly working against you.
There's more in Caithness (see the GBDURO/GNT route), or further south around Corrour/Loch Ossian/Laggan/Dalwhinnie./ Then there's all the stuff around Aviemore. Argyll should be ideal but I'm afraid it's an area more or less off my radar as regards riding bikes. I really must fix that!
If you don't mind mostly sticking to roads then the whole Ardgour/Morvern/Ardnamurchan area is commonly bypassed and is well worth a visit. There's a loop from Strontian that goes past the old mines, up Loch Sheil on gravel then back round to Strontian on the road. You can take in Cona Glen on the return loop but might be pushing a bit to the col.

+1 for GNT / GBduro route north of Stirling. Eastern Cairngorms has plenty to choose from and you can base yourself in Ballater which is a good spot. Applecross / Torridon area is road or extreme single track only but the coulin pass is a good one. Or as per Colin Caithness / Sutherland area has a fair bit of gravel and lots of ace roads, it does get dark early up there however!
