I was hoping to ride over to the Great Orme this morning and get a few pics of the cars but the WRC stage was cancelled

Is the weather bad there? It's glorious sunshine here, just rode up the road and back, put a long sleeve jersey and light windproof on and was way too hot.

A typical October day tbh. However the reason for cancelling was they couldn't position the recue divers in the sea as it was too rough. Health and safety eh!?

Thanks for the reminder that it's 3 weeks 'till the WRC comes calling here in Cataluña, on the Friday it passes 10km from home. This is a pic from last years event showing the current championship leader Ott Tanak. Taken about 500m from the Spanish C2C route.

They never had rescue divers when Louise Aitken-Walker put the works Astra in the Lake that time, her and the co-driver just had to escape through the windows and swim to shore. Driver's today need some 'Stop Being Soft' stickers

Today's health and safety! I wouldn't mind but its about 200-300 foot off the cliffs from the road to the sea, so what a diver could have done is beyond me!?!

Really showing my age but one of my most vivid memories is watching Tony Pond ragging the Rover SD1 around those bends on the Great Orme on the RAC Rally. His line was to lift the inside wheel onto the pavement whilst completely sideways. The co-driver was issued with a squeezy bottle full of soapy water that was connected via tubing to just in front of the rear wheels to squirt onto the road at the stage start before the clutch was dropped so the slick shod tyres would spin rather than grip and break the drive shafts. British Leyland traction control :-bd

I've just got back from a long(ish) distance bivy. Under a tree with and without bag with full waterproofs on (lower army issue goretex and upper cheap Trekkit paclite plus goretex) with 2 bivvys 2 hours apart... there was a slug involved on my face full report coming up shortly if that helps save from anti-depressants :-bd
