Is this worth the cost?

Not tried it out as yet, but it looks pretty good.

I like the offline map feature as a back up to my Garmin.

I bought the worldwide lifetime maps when it came out. I now used it as much as the Garmin as the maps are very detailed. I think I paid £19, bargain.

I have found that it will send you down some lovely trails you wouldn't otherwise find

But it also imagines trails that simply aren't there and aren't even passable

I've paid - split the cost with my bikepacking wingman. Its ace for the gxp as well as the offline maps. The last 629 mile trip was 100% rideable/appropriate :-bd

It seems I can give away free Komoot regions to people as I have the full one. Not sure how many times I can do this but if anybody wants a free region worth 8.99 euros msg me your full name and email address.

I paid the £19. The different terrain routing options have been working really well for me. I think they must be using heatmaps to guide the offroad routing and I've found it much better than other services so far.
