Some tough hills up from Applecross to Loch Torridon. And today a bloke rode past on a penny farthing with a pith helmet.
Joff I presume?

I've done some riding up there. On a road bike. But a penny farthing?!

I can't trust you. It's a forum. Please explain?
Seen lots of roadside signs n t-shirts. Great for boosting your carbon footprint. But on a PF?

Being an occasional Penny rider myself, I clearly see the appeal to ride the NC.
Just because you can. The steeps mean walking but basically it's just another lovely way to ride a bicycle and enjoy the outdoors. Nothing else...
(Traffic hinderance aside)

I just received a photo of a loaded Penny Farthing in Lochinver from a friend who's biking and hunting in Scotland.
I'll see if he was much surprised to find that I knew who the Penny belonged to, when we meet for Marmite and crumpets.
