Vittoria Barzo

Anyone got any experience of the Vittoria Barzo G2.0 tyres? What sort if wear rates can I expect? Grip? Puncture resistance?
My Michelin's (Force XC Competion Line) have done 1200 miles or so but the tread on the centre of the rear one is just about gone. To be fair to Michelin they are a great tyre, fast rolling and lots of grip so I can't really expect long life as well.
The Vittoria Mezcal seems to be very popular now but I'm after something with a bit more of an open tread as things get muddy here very quickly after any rain.
