Cheeky Showers in the Lake District

Post by Chew » Mon Jul 22, 2019 3:46 pm

Fingers crossed that if the weather holds for later in the week, I should be going up to the Lakes for a few days of climbing.

Being a tight-fisted Yorkshireman, I’ll probably just end up sleeping out somewhere.
Anyone know of potential campsites that I could wonder in un-noticed to have a shower?
Probably based around Ambleside, but happy to go somewhere less touristy.
(more than happy to pay for it)

Also any suggestions of good pubs to visit for a filling evening meal would be great :-bd

If you're near Langdale you could try the National Trust campsite for showers, and the Sticklebarn (Langdale) or the Brittania Inn (Elterwater) for food.

Langdale is currently under water.
I saw a photo from them on Facebook this morning and it's just a big lake with tents in the middle.
