Aero bars repair-of-sorts help

Post by petemaz »

I just picked up a cheap set of profile design aerobars on Facebook as I want to try them out on my July BAM to see if they help at all with hand positions, comfort etc.. One reason i got them cheap was that they are missing the foam pads, so I'm planning to myog some from an old camp mat, however I'm not sure of the best way to secure my homemade pads to the arm rests. Any suggestions - just use super glue?

Thanks

How about double sided tape?

That or spray mount

Your weight will be holding the foam on

Gwt the VHB (very high bond) but not copies. Copies are a bit rubbish. The VHB things are amazing and can be picled up in ebay as square tabs. Its whats sent out with Quadlock as well as GoPro to stick mount to helmet etc...

Evo stik is what I have used to glue sleeping mat into kayaks as padding, it gets wet and a lot of abuse and normally stays put.

The plastic pads on my tolkens have velcro hooks on them. The foam pad has the loop sid on them. Put them together and they do not move at all. In fact they require quite a pull to remove them to allow for pad angle change.

Cheers again Folks. Turns out I don't actually have an old camping mat, or anything vaguely similar to use, so no aerobars tryout for me this weekend!
