Tom and I planning to use Plug 3 USB systems to convert our Dynamo electricity.

I've got a number of biggish Anker packs. However the internets says that big battery packs won't charge at low speeds as they need a minimum of 1 amp to charge. I can't see what the Anker min charge rate is.

Another Q. Do I buy 2 smaller power banks and charge/use one then alternate?

Or do I buy a charge through power bank?

Keep the ones you've got but take a charger and top up in cafes. Quite a few places on the route have charger sockets outside that you can cheekily tap into, even if they are shut. Might not charge much uphill/flat but there's a decent number of long descents!

I’ve used an anker 10000 mah with good results, best has been a portapow, it would even take a trickle charge from a solar panel.
Do you already have the plugs? If not there may be better alternatives.

I use two 10,000mAh packs, charge one, use the other. You've also got redundancy in case one gets damaged or wet. With the Igaro I bought off you they will take charge from about 8kmh

Got a good deal on the Plugs, not arrived yet hence researching others experience.

Can’t help too much on what capacity pack is best for a given charger ....I’m looking to try a sine wave USB charger after the epic fail of the klite during Jogle

However, on battery packs. From experience it does seem more sensible to take multiple smaller packs than fewer larger packs.
Removes a point of failure.

Also, unless one gets fast charge packs the charge for most usb packs is 2.4A @5V irrespective of capacity. {*}
So several smaller packs charging from a suitable mains charger will charge more in a given time than fewer larger packs. {%}

It was more a case of what didn’t happen
Was using the klite for Jogle; at least 160km a day @20kmh average

Reading a TD Facebook group the sine wave controller is very well considered
So will get one of those

I did wonder if the pack was too large in capacity
People have had success with the sine wave and that size of pack

have an old 500mA charger somewhere
will try and find it

Plug it inline between converter and battery. Press the reset button. Go for a ride at a reasonable speed. Check to see how much charge you've generated.

I used a cinq5 when I had mine and you could set it to charge at super low speeds it wasnt huge in capacity 3000 iirc but ran devices perfectly and I also charged bigger batteries with that in the middle which worked well iirc I no longer use it so I could sell it if it's of any Interest:)
