Offer of guiding/suggesting non-gnar routes around Aviemore still stands.

Glad to hear things are improving, fingers crossed for your continued recovery.
Re: Broken Riders - Joining The Party (Long Read)
So as some of you may know by now, I managed to get out at Christmas (in Aviemore) for some riding. On the bike for the first time since the accident... nearly six months. Thankfully my hip held up fairly well, though I noticed that my power delivery is extremely spiky on the right side now (sort of surges at particular parts of the pedal stroke).
I don't mind admitting that I was absolutely fucking terrified on anything slippy, and descending was done at next to no miles per hour. I don't know if I can ever get past that to be honest, but time will tell. I guess realistically I just need to stick to difficult up with very safe downs.
I just updated my Strava rides to include some photos. Beautiful place... I don't think I really could have picked much better for my return.

I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle any rides longer than say... 4 hours for quite some time, but it's a start.

Put a lot of us to shame there I dare say, certainly ridden more than me over that period. Chapeau! Keep at it mate, really pleased you're recovering.
Re: Broken Riders - Joining The Party (Long Read)
Had a hospital appointment today to check the recovery of my hip socket smashage. Apparently, I've got bone growth on the femoral head that's causing something called a cam impingement.
Consultant has said no running (meh), no plyometrics, no deadlifts and no deep squats. Even without that I should expect an acceleration of when I'd expect to see arthritis in that hip set in.
I'm somewhat depressed about it.
I'll ask my private lot if they think anything can be done. The consultant seemed to think that there probably wasn't until I eventually have that hip replaced.

Yeah, though obviously there are certain things that will stop me doing as well (less of an issue now I've basically been told not to do them already!).
I'll be honest, I'm not in a rush to have any more surgery for a while either.
