How young is spiffy Mr. Barter? If I may ask.

Not that I need a number to look up to, but I always love to see what others, who are some 20 or 30 years older than I am, can achieve.

Don't we all hope to be able to just keep on riding (long days) as we get older and older?
Inspiring :-bd

Fingers crossed with deep respect.

Gian, if you click on either his dot or his name in the list you'll get to his details.

Cheers Bob. Had forgotten about that.

So... I'm taking back some of what I said. He's not quite old enough.

Was Alexandera the first (GD) 2019 to finish ssp?
No matter if she actually was or wasn't :-bd

Ryan Simon was the first singlespeeder, came in one place ahead of Alexandera.

I think I've read that Alexandera is the first back to back female winner. And although they don't differentiate between grand depart and ITT for record times I also think that her ride this year is the fastest female grand depart ride :-bd

Ooh, I bet Dave can almost smell the finish now. Superb run and in full accordance with the 'spirit of the Tour Divide' ... don't quote me, I might copyright that for later

It looks like Dave pushed on for a couple of hours more than the other 2 last night, I wonder if that was to get close enough to the finish to be able to make it there in one last push?

The other brit I know (Tim Roberts) is now within 500 miles of the finish

The following was written about Dave in 2003:
Dave Barter (and his ever supportive family) for having the vision, strength of character and never say die attitude that made this such a success,
Guess it still applies!!
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

Dave is on the toughest part of the route imo. He may learn a new level of swearing on the 14 miles of the Gila. When he hits tarmac again it is a decent enough run into Silver City and then the final run to the border.

His tracker hadn't updated for a while but it's now just past Silver City. 126.5 miles to go! Go Dave!

Looks like Dave's going for a finish tonight, 120 miles to go. Pic on twitter shows him with his race face on, either that or constipation  Go Dave!

Excellent! When can we expect the film to be released

In amongst all the men girnin shots the smiling face of Alexandra has been most welcome. She looks like she’s enjoyed every damn minute of it. For me, she has encapsulated what the TD experience should be. Count me a fanboi.

I can’t help but think that Lael seems to enjoyed things much more after she scratched. She certainly looked happier. I guess there’s a lesson in there somewhere.

Looks like we have a bouncing Barter, it's not clear whether he got in before midnight, it was bloody close but either way it was a great effort. 120 miles in 9 hours at the end of 3 weeks is a top job. Well done that man

His last point is 11:52pm so I think he was there just in time  The red line of the route on trackleaders goes past the point where the famous sign is on the fence. I make it that he finished in just under 20 days 16 hours so inside the 21 day target :-bd

Chapeau Dave  great ride, I'm looking forward to the book
