Looks interesting
Here’s hoping the replacement for the Oregon 7xx also has built in inReach

FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY QUID! I'd want more than Inreach, I'd want a built-in fortnight somewhere warm and sunny.
May the bridges you burn light your way

TBF, only £400 if you don't want the supplied mapping...
Re: Garmin 66i
ok, a stupid price
does show an interesting direction garmin is taking in combining a GPS and inReach into the same unit

On a more serious note... Does that mean (if anyone is good at markets and economics or whatever subject this is) the InReach might start coming down in price. Am hoping for an InReach Mini at some point in the (not too) distant future

Whilst no one here is likely to know (unless we have some Garmin employees) I very much doubt it.redefined_cycles wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 11:27 pm On a more serious note... Would be nice if subscription pricing did drop.
Re: Garmin 66i
depends if they get lots of demand and control supply[ie not increase it to meet the demand] the price will rise.If they get lots of demand so make more then economies of scale should bring the price down .the InReach might start coming down in price
My guess neither of those happen as its a fairly niche product that will be basically this price for a while.
It does seem to be £550 with inreach as you can drop the maps and inreach but have to have both- well the topo map
way to pricey for me. you can get both a GPS and the inreach and have plenty of change - lot of money for some minor weight saving.
