Ha, probably more like having a foot in both camps than any ability with good order :)

Why do vegans always have to mention the fact that they are vegan?

Because the rules of vegan club are the opposite of the rules of fight club?

was this tired old trope ever funny?

The main reason i mentioned it was relevance, its harder for me to get food than you, in the middle of nowhere,. and were i not so restricted I would not be concerned.
Thanks for asking I never let an opportunity ,sorry need, go by to mention it , apparently,

Don't worry Laz, I get that reaction when I always mention to people that I'm a smelly bikepacker  .

Why do people who ride bikes always mention that they ride bikes? (same for anything else that is part of a lifestyle choice)

Currently on Arran (in the rain 😕) and the official “island guide for campers “ has this displayed prominently:

Not only cyclists. Mrs does the local ParkRun and there's a bunch that wear Vegan Runners vests.

If I had the resolve to become a vegan, I'd tell people.

Since this has been designated a grumpy thread I'll add that 'disposable' barbecues may well be LNT at point of use but I'll bet 98% get simply chucked in the bin back at home.
That's if they don't get left leaning against a plastic rubbish bin, next to a bus stop - still smouldering.
Good job I had an almost full bike bottle in my car
