How to delete private messages?

Inbox is full on account of how come I'm so very popular ....... no, not really. I can't see how to delete the buggers to get to the new ones. Can someone send me step by step instructions that could be understood by my 98 year old gran please. Ta.

open inbox
each message is separate i think and it has a box at the side
click on box on far right [ tick appears]

scroll to bottom says Mark/unmark as important

click on that reveals a drop down menu of which you have the above and delete
pick delete

click GO
Confirm deletion

await the inrush of mail from your adoring fans

If you want to delete them all then beneath the Mark important/unimportant drop down there's a link "mark all", click that then choose the action from the drop down
