Pillow recommendations

Something has changed with my sleep, my pillow is no longer comfy for some reason. It's the third pillow I've had and I thought I had it nailed, been using it for a while now, clearly not

I'm using an exped airpillow UL, I think. I'm an everything sleeper - side, back, sometimes even my front

The exped is giving me a neck pain during the night, not good. Had neck pain during the night on both WRT nights, thankfully it went away in the morning.

It turns out as I get older I'm becoming more of a princess. I use a memory foam shaped pillow at home, very comfy. Other pillows in other beds (hotels/B&Bs etc) aren't as good. I always used to have great sleep outdoors but my pillow is letting me down

Any recommendations?

(I've seen the exped aeros but can't work it if it's just the new version of my airpillow or its a different design)

I'm still resting my head on a Klymit Cush. It folds over into 2 or 3 so you can adjust the height. Can also be had quite cheaply.

Same as you Ben I've been using Exped pillows - the "light" one and then the "ultralight". It was OK but wasn't quite right, so I've switched back to my Exped Pillow Pump from ages ago - as the name implies it pumps your airbed then itself! Seems softer than the L/UL ones. And you can leave the schnozzle behind then too (which aren't as light as they should be anyway - 60g? compared to pillow pump at about 130g I think). Worth a try-out at twenty quid?

Stu's looks interesting. Can be used as a chair as well . "neat features like 'ear pockets'" - not sure about that bit though, I prefer mine attached at night so I can hear the bears coming for me.

We've got Sea to Summit pillows, one normal size and one (extra?) large.

I tried the Sea to Summit one recently. I hate it.

I also get a sore neck - I just use an ebay one as no air pillow is good enough you actually want to use it all the time so I preferred something that cost pence - surprisingly it weighed under 50 g as well. Its ok which is as high as I rate more expensive options I have tried.

Might be the same as the ebay one referred to above, but I got a simple tyvek pillow (with free inflating straw) from Henge Hammocks for about £3 posted and it served me very well last weekend.

Bought a sub standard one from go outdoors for my first overnighter was awful, ebay'd an inflatable one 4.50 posted out worked great over the WRT weekend moves around fully inflated bit of pressure out was sound

Yeah, the Klymit Cush is great (and cheap!)

I fold mine into 3 and keep it under control inside a t-shirt. I find the "earhole" comfy!

But discovered the trekology pillow from amazon, pretty cheap too (similar to the kush)

For the kush users, are you back or side sleepers?

Had one of the trekology pillows for a year now ,can't fault it to be honest ,don't inflate it fully and it's really comfy ,( not the kush type but the normal type)

Mammut Air pillow. Very light - I think this and the Klymit Xlit 3/4 mattress are just a little over 100g combined. Obviously more comfortable options

I use the 5L Exped drybag that my PJs live in (merino baselayers and warm socks).
Remove contents, refill with folded wool cycling tops, close to include some air. Slide the bag into a buff.
It ends up about travel pillow sized, but traps heat, gives soft support without being bouncy, and isn't claggy against the skin.
A nice touch is in re-purposing something I'm carrying anyway.

Ben have a look at the Eagle Creek Fast Inflate jobbie. It's huge, weighs not much and packs down very small. Ive had mine for two years and think it's the dog's. Not cheap mind.

Bought the trekology one, really cheap. Seems good on a quick test of the sofa. Will test it properly on the next bank holiday weekend

So I spent two nights at cub camp using the trekology pillow (on the slopiest pitched tent ever, they were left up for us to use as they were still wet from the school who were there before us)

Pillow was comfier than my exped one. Came with a strap that let me secure it around me mat which was a big bonus. Valve is slightly over designed but overall I'm impressed
