Insulated Gilet - Primaloft or similar

I have 6 or 7 insulated gilets now... the Decathlon is by a long way the best vfm, partic. for use where it may get damaged or filthy. Really good bit of kit.

Otherwise the Endura Flipjak is usefully visible<>subtle and slightly tougher material (though a bramble at speed will rip any of them) and the Endura (edit)ProSL is the lightest and most packable - silly ££ though.

got the jacket vertion of this and its stonking never been so warm in a primaloft

I have a Berghaus Extrem Primaloft gillet. It's an amazing bit of kit and is pretty much always in my bags on a BP trip and gets a lot of use at camp.
I couldn't ride in it except in very cold weather though. I seem to generate a lot of heat when riding and need to loose layers rather than layer up.

I have a Flipjak jacket. If the gilet is as nice, it'll be worth trying.

Also - depends what you want it for. I recently bought a Marmot hybrid jacket (insulated body, stretch sleeves) which I'm finding very useful during this Spring of up and down temperatures.

The Alpkit one is cheap-ish on Sport Pursuit. No idea if it’s good, though.

Seems like it's possibly a toss up between the decathlon and possibly the endura @ crc if it's the same one as Jameso is talking about. Might have to pop into decathlon on Thursday to try one on because it's proper cheap.

Definately want to be able ride in it so the berghaus will probably be too warm.

I picked up a Mammot primaloft gilet in a sale some years ago and it is brilliant. I ride in sometimes and it also what I have sewn my BB200 patches onto.

I use an endura insulated vest and its FAB.great cut for riding and way warmer than you'd expect from the weight and packability.

I love insulated vests. I have a soft spot for them! I have loads, plus normal insulated jackets and normal gilets

I find them so useful, whether for riding, call use or walking. I also really like polartec alpha for active use, or tops with insulated fronts and less insulated backs

I find myself wavering over the endura one even though I really don't need it!
