Genesis Vagabond

Post by Loki »

Are there any other Vagabond owners in the house, I was wondering how you have yours set up? The reason I ask is that I am considering changing the drops for a flat bar, possibly a loop bar using deore brakes/shifters or staying drops and changing to TRP Hylex brakes. Thanks in advance

Simon.

I have a Genesis Vagabond. I've used various drop bars and it's now set up with Jones Loops.
I liked it set up with salsa cowchippers when mixed terrain favoured road routes or easy off road and like it more with jones loops when routes favored technical off road routes. I'm leaning towards putting the drop bars back on it.

Thanks both, I am currently running Woodchippers but as much as I like drops I am an old mountain biker at heart and I keep wanting flat bars, I think a bivvy night to help me decide

i have just bought a Singular Gryphon which is flat bar and i want to convert to drop bar, as most of my riding is linking up bridleways by road, i therefore have really good nick, Ritchey handlebars, Avid brake levers and TRP Spyke callipers if they are any good to you?

This is the Vagabond loaded up [1] for a week in deepest, darkest Buckinghamshire [2]. The woodchippers are from Scud and the harness from Bearbonesnorm.

I'm still sorting out my setup with the bike but quite liking the handlebars so far.

[1] well, I'd removed the contents of the pannier and the walking boots from the rack by the time I took the photo.
[2] not a bikepacking holiday.

Edit: image problems.
