Safe Parking At Tyndrum or Crianlarich?

Post by Ray Young »

I'm doing a four day ride from either Tyndrum or Crianlarich next week and was wondering where to park my car safely.

We've left the car in the car park of the Crianlarich Hotel - had breakfast as a non-resident and asked. They just wanted to know the reg number. This was only for a couple of days.

In Tyndrum people doing the HT550 have used the space in front of the old tourist information building (just next door to the Real Food Cafe). Might be worth letting the staff there know.

Hi Ray, I’ve left my car at the back of the car prk next to the Green Welly before as well and it has been fine there as well. Its a huge car park and always seems to have a fair bit of space.
Cheers

I’ve used those options too in tyndrum. If you are wanting something more out the way then By The Way campsite have let people leave cars etc there during the event. Used to be £10 for the duration.

Just arrived in Tyndrum for a slow pootle around the highland trail. Thought I would ask around before dumping the van for the best part of 2 weeks.

You can dump a car behind the green wellie stop for as long as you like but they Like to keep a register of vehicles being left behind. You can fill it in at the petrol station.

I left mine at the 'By the way' campsite. OK so they did charge me a tenner
I did like the fact it wasn't visible from road and out the way, and someone keeping a half open eye on it

I use the car park near the new TJ’s diner, as do loads of other people. I’ve slept in there a couple of times too - it’s pretty quiet after closing time.

I ended up parking for two nights in the big carpark behind the green welly shop but didn't register at the garage, had no problems though.
