Of rivnuts and Bow Ties and straps ...

Post by TheBrownDog »

I finally found the time this evening to drill a few holes in the underside of my Fatty's down tube, whack some rivnuts in and attach the Bow Ties delivered by His Regal Stuness earlier this week. Doddle. Marked up the holes with a bottle cage, drilled some pilots and then the holes for the rivnuts. Then followed the process described on youtube.

The Bow Ties give a nice shape to cradle whatever you might want to hang under there. The rivnuts are in there to stay, but a part of me doesn't trust them, so I'll always wrap the straps over the tube. Just to be on the safe side.

Nice job Tim. You will need to add a few more before you reach the Longitude’s fighting weight

Enjoy the rugby

Was looking at the problem solvers website, earlier, and they recommend wrapping the straps around the frame - so you made the right decision.

Looking good
