Oh dear. I find I'm watching television that weekend (*).

(Only joking - right behind you there MaM).

(*) From the anecdote about Peter Cook: "I'll leave with a story whose victim, Sir David Frost, won't mind it being told, because he tells it himself. David Frost rang Peter Cook up some years ago. "Peter, I'm having a little dinner party on behalf of Prince Andrew and his new bride-to-be Sarah Ferguson. I know they'd love to meet you, big fans; Be super if you could make it: Wednesday the twelfth." "Hang on... I'll just check my diary.", says Peter. Pause and rummaging and leafing through diary noises. And then Peter said "Oh dear. I find I'm watching television that night.""

Can someone just put 5 pros and 5 cons down of down the WRT... I might be in but need some inspiration. Plus it'll mean the investment in bikeframe full bag wont be to waste...

Pros-
Wales is nice
There is cake
You can visit the set of Hinterland
It's for charity
There is a rabbit village

Cons-
It's 400 miles from anywhere
50% chance of rain
The format is actually impossible to explain without it sounding like you are making it up as you go along

Can someone just put 5 pros and 5 cons down of down the WRT
• There's cake
• There'll be money raised for a good cause
• There's lots of nice places to ride and things to see
• Taylor might swear at you
• You might win summat

• It might rain, hail or even snow
• The coffee's crap
• There's some big hills
• Taylor might swear at you
• The lemon drizzle might be gone by the time you get back
May the bridges you burn light your way

"It's 400 miles from anywhere;

The format is actually impossible to explain without it sounding like you are making it up as you go along" - just to clarify: those are most definitely big PROS not CONS :-bd. Same for Stu's "cons". Oh, apart from the last one. It's ALWAYS "just" gone by the time "you" get back - come to think of it, I don't think I've ever actually seen a piece, despite the legendary status and all the talk about it. Anybody got proof it's ever existed? I reckon the first rider back scoffs the whole lot themselves in one go. Hmm.

I'm in.
Mrs Landslide says it's too far in advance for her to plan what to do in my absence, but I'm hoping I can convince her to spend some time with her family (Shropshire or Aberdyfi), as that'll make my transport plans a lot simpler...

I think youve sold it to me on 2 accounts...

1. the fact that the cake will be gone by the time I get back means I need not inquire whether its suitable for vegetarians (am on halal diet so easier being veggie when away from home).

2. Its for charity... I love riding my bike for charity and so does our Stan (the Sonder).

3. Sounds like a lot of pain and me feeling like I've gone mad... defo in... now just need for £30 to come my way by next week middle so I can enter (or will it be sold out by then!!?)

WRT doesn't really sell out. Entries will close at the end of March.

In yet again.

Why, oh why?

The pack raft might come this year for a float down to the sea and an iced on the beach before a ride back
Who cares about grid refs, my routes already sorted ;-)

Just realised that the month (ramadhan) of fasting starts on that day or the day after... but will keep a keen eye on things and if there is any chance that I might be able to make the Lite version and get back home in time for the day before... Then am in. Otherwise, might have to be another year...

BB200 is waaaay tougher than this chilled out (sort of) ride right?? If its a relaxed affair (and not too cold in Oct) then might think bout that one...

Different beast, although you could make the WRT waaay harder than the BB200 of you were that way inclined.
