Down bag for the wide not long...

Post by Scud »

Unfortunately my first love was rugby, so i am now that oddly proportioned bloke with a 48" chest but only 30" legs at 5'10" tall.

Are there any sleeping bag brands that do a wide fit, that isn't then really long as well , or that make a custom that isn't more than about £300?

After a three season down bag, where i can actually the zip up around my shoulders, at the moment i tend to use my sleeping bag almost like a quilt and it is only done up to my hips, but upside down, but that means hood is over face!

Most bags have side zips. Can't you just turn 90°?

I see what you're saying, but ideally i'd actually be able to do the sleeping up especially in winter...

Cumulus have a custom bag creator on their website so you can adjust the dimensions.

The price updates as you change the spec so you can see how much the changes will cost.

Enlightened Equipment in the US make custom quilts (open sleeping bags) to order with different widths/lengths available. In fact pretty much every aspect of the vag is customisable. I have one I'm really pleased with.
It may well end up hitting £300 depending on the options you choose and/or get pinged by customs.
Lovely high quality gear though.

I have a long wide EE quilt

PHD, EE, Cumulus and As Tucas could do that for you I think
