Technique to enter and exit bivvy bag

Post by Mitomaniac »

Well I won't be going for a trip yet as waiting on luggage and figuring how to mount gear on my full Susser..

So was checking my lumo would fit inside ok then I thought I'll get the sleeping bag (thanks for the advice with that purchase)

Is there a technique to get in and out as I'm trying to figure out how not to drag the bag outside when getting out etc and easiest way to get in and close things down

I use what my young fella calls the shrimp ,it's a sort of wiggle he uses to get out of holds in Jujitsu , when I saw it I had a light bulb moment and thought that would work really well getting out of my body bag

Wriggle in, fidget about for a bit, get everything un twisted, try and be on top of your sleeping mat and then decide that you need a p1ss and then repeat.

Seated get the bag up beyond your waist.
Then do the same with your bivvy bag.
Hang on to the bivvy and push down into the bivvy taking your sleeping bag with you.
You need to work out how to support yourself while doing this.
Next thing is how to get out because you will need to pee the moment you get comfortable.
Zazen - nothing happens next this is it.
