All round 29er tyres
I'm still in the business of setting up my newly acquired 2015 Fargo and am looking for some advice on tyres. I've not owned a standard 29er previously. My main bikepacking bike over the last 4 years has been 29+ and I had s 26er prior to that.
Name me a good all round set of tyres to sit on an internal 21mm rim.
Bikepacking oriented. Fast-ish. Light-ish. Capable in mud is more desirable than low rolling resistance for roads but it will need to do both.
First big ride will be Braunton 150 plus training if I get a spot.

Re: All round 29er tyres
All my tyres are round...
I’ve used Maxxis Ardents (2.25”) as an all round tyre but what you gain in rolling resistance you lose in traction when it gets muddy. So I mostly use an Ardent/HR2 combo. Works for me... (I’m happy enough for the rear to skit about about a bit). I run HR2/Minion 2.8” combo on one bike but that has hell of a rolling resistance (good in the mud though... )

Give the dirt a little room.

Conti X-King works well in most conditions.

Are they ok in gloop? Got a lot of gloop here in Devon.

HR2 ardent combo here
Like them, can feel a bit draggy on the road when newish but they've worn down now so pretty good right now
Go up tubeless really good too. Only other tyres i've run on my Solaris are WTB nano 2.1 and that's in summer but haven't used them in a couple of years now
