Tomb Raider details.

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Morning - details / GR for next years (doesn't that sound odd) Winter Event are now winging their way through cyberspace and should be droppong into inboxes across the land. If yours doesn't arrive by late this afternoon, please consider the following:

• Could it be in your spam folder?

• Could it be in a different spam folder belonging to an email account you seldom use?

• Did someone else enter on your behalf? If so, it's likely gone to them.

Still no joy? It must have been intercepted by Santa, so email me (not message or through fb but a proper email) and I'll re-send it. Happy route planning

Some Christmas crackers there Stu!

Bedd a brecwast - got the bedds sorted, and one of our favourite brecwast spots is en route. What's not to like :-bd

<annoying school-marm voice>"make sure we don't give away any GRs on here people".

As Im still in work reg ensuring that the vehicles don't breakdown so the masses can buy enough bread to feed a small nation in panick as the bakery actually stops production for 24 hrs ,are you plotting a route or should we all plot one

Good for you MaM - please can you let one of your drivers know that Leighton Buzzard has run out of those posh stoneground rustic loaf things? Mrs Perrin is giving me an earful to find one, but these GRs are much more interesting. Maybe our little crowd can make up a route on the day, finger in the air kind of thing. Then again we can't avoid that cafe or that pub. It's the law..

Take 'em all Bob . My initial route needs a ferry - what're your rafting rates?

("panick as the bakery actually stops production for 24 hrs" - as MI5 say, Britain is four meals away from anarchy. It seems most people can't make it past one)

There's a couple of the GRs that I've visited this year, either on the BB200 or on the WRT - the latter led to a "marital discussion"

Which mapping site will allow me to put all the GR's on one page?
I know there's one but the name escapes me at the moment.

Well that's a first! I have plotted a BB route on the day I got the GRs...

98km with a "cut to home" option at 60km.

Now all I need is legs and lungs to cooperate this year and it should be a good laugh.

Stuck to the 7 GRs on OS 215... I reckon I shall frame my copy of this venerable map some day. It has been plotted on, scrawled over and covered in sh1t in its time. We have been through a lot together.

Thanks Stu. Looks like a good 'un again.

Have a great Christmas fellow Boners.

Peace to you all.

Si

Stu, any chance I can see the GRs for the Winter Event?

I'm not entered, but I've just hit the mat in the second round of my rematch with norovirus and I need a distraction.

My kids got it too and I can assure everyone that there is nothing like having both lavatories in your house occupied with vomiting teenagers while the world itself is trying to fall out of your bottom. At 2am.

Go on.
I'm just going outside ...

Stu, what's the BW like descending from Bryn Amlwg down to the A470 like? I know you've commented less than favourably on the one further west passing Waun Cwmcalch. The 1:25k map shows a vehicle track.

I've not entered the event so the exact GRs are non of my business, but I was wondering if the name "Tomb Raider" has become clear by where the target locations are?
Cheers.

From the email:

Each one the site of an ancient monument - it might be a cairn, a hill fort, burial mound or something else.

He doesn't say at which one either Alicia Vikander or Laura Croft will be based. Adds to the excitement I guess.
