Big Bear group start next year?

Post by Bearbonesnorm »

Would this be of any interest? If so, I'll try and find an appropriate slot for it ... proper summer would obviously be better for weather and light but not the best for vegitation.

Thoughts, opinion welcome as always.

You might struggle to persuade one of that group to repeat the experience, but you never know...

would that be riding as a group?
was quite sociable riding "ride to the sun" as a group; and there wasn't too much dummy throwing

hmm, vegetation, sounds like a tick minefield

No. I believe you're misunderstanding the meaning of 'group start' when used in this context. What you're describing is simply known as a 'ride'.

No, it's everyone setting off at the same time followed very shortly by their rear wheels disappearing in to the distance

Would be interested Stu. I think you if stay away from bank holiday weekends then there'll be room in the calendar.

I know this post isn't really aimed at the likes of me (severe bimbler ,bit like a old Gardner diesel engine smokes a lot and slow to get started) but I will tour this next year and think I need to get my first bb200 under my belt before signing up to itt it

I'd be up for it mate, If I don't ride it again at easter. Or it could be a training ride for the group start ;0)

I think folk will have to put aside at least three days maybe four. You will be ruined after it!!

Stu, when are we going winter shopping ?

Not really with you John. I thought it was fairly straightforward ... would there be any interest in a Big Bear group start next year? Which bit are you struggling with?

As long as it's far enough away from the HT550 to be able to ride both in the same year I'm in :-bd

Mike, if you say it needs 3 to 4 days... I wonder if it's possible to ride straight through without sleep?

I think you probably want to be four to six weeks away from both the HT550 and the Borders 350 which people are also likely to be interested in. So that would mean the end of April or early August.

I'll be up for this. An April start would be ideal training for the HT, and if it has been dry it would be brilliant.

There is quite a gap between interested and committing to participating.

I am definitely interested though!
