Love the country and would be great to end up in Lake Garda, now I.m not one for long boring stretches of dull country side and like to eat proper food and have the odd beer is this ride going to tick many of my boxes!
Anyone else doing it?

Re: Talk me into doing the Italy Divide!
I am tempted, for similar reasons (pizza & gelato, high on my priorities!), but unsure what the 2019 route is. Website doesn't have a map up yet, previous years have started in Rome, but the route description mentions Naples, clearly a long way further south, so maybe an extended route this time?

Excellent food in Italy. Ice cold Moretti is good after a hot days riding. They take their coffee seriously so it's rare to get a bad espresso and the gelato is great too. Plus you get to ride your bike? You'd be mad not to. :)

As Craig has said the route starts in Naples this year.
I rode it last year and it was a fantastic route, really enjoyed it, started in Rome at the Colloseum, went through Bologne, Florence, Verona and
finished at the northern tip of Lake Garda.
Plenty of ice cream

Based on the 2018 route, what bike / tyres would you recommend?Chicken Legs wrote:I rode it last year and it was a fantastic route
I've heard a hardtail with fast rolling rubber is a good option... But I suppose in April the weather could be quite 'dynamic', which might dictate tyres.

That's an interesting question as last year it was advertised as a gravel route but I chose to ride my hard tail with front suspension, I thought it was a bit overkill but hey ho, anyway the Italian idea of gravel defo required exactly what I rode !!ZeroDarkBivi wrote:Based on the 2018 route, what bike / tyres would you recommend?Chicken Legs wrote:I rode it last year and it was a fantastic route
