I saw this the other day and thought it looked pretty interesting and seems to be going a bit under the radar because everyone is looking at the gastly green Mason In Search Of. They're doing a Ti version too with drop bars, but I prefer the look of the steel one. Seems an ideal do it all kind of bike, though their geometry table is a bit messed up so it's hard to figure out - but it looks good. Also interesting that they have specced what look to be Jones bars, but it doesn't say they are in the spec?? They are meant to be doing them as framesets but they are not listed yet.

Is it just my eyes or do those Jones bars not look quite right? They look like the section in the stem curves round too soon? It could just be the angle of the picture. Let's hope so and it's not a set they've had made as a copy, the last time someone made a Jones copy it nearly broke the internet

It would seem strange that they might make some unlicensed versions, but who knows?

It's not only the bars that don't look right, anyone tried to match up the letters on the bike diagram with the geometry chart? Looks like PlanetX's proof reader has found a new home

Don't look like it Colin. I've the riser bars and the rise is very obvious.

It might be the angle of the shot but the part of the bar either side of the stem don't look like a normal Jones, the bar looks straight rather than curved leading to the joint.

They look a bit like On-One Mary bars with an additional front loop, certainly a very pronounced 'seagull wing' shape to the main bar. Far enough removed design from Jones remains to be seen ?!

I was at the Cycle Show last Friday, saw this and loads of others.
Adventure Bike dropper posts are the new thing, all over the place.

Ribble's stand seemed exclusively to be "adventure" bikes, loads of cool stuff.

I think their bars/stem were branded 'Level' but on the Ison stand they had some Satori bars that looked very similar i.e. angled loops.

I had a chat with a guy on the stand and I think he was saying that the steel and Ti were the same Geometry. The website options don't bear that out though.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that but I don't find the Mason ghastly at all.

That looks dead good, finally others are seeing the light. Those bars look like the alpkit loop bar rip offs - slightly less curved back loop. Maybe the guy at Alpkit off-loaded the rest of his container of bars to Ribble??

That satori bar is more like the alpkit Confucius bar, a loop put on a lightly swept bar. The ribble picture is clearly a loop with a smaller cross piece, see the welds are different. The grip area looks longer too. Whatever they are let's hope they retail for a sensible amount £££ (less than 50 would be nice)

The website description looks like it was hastily thrown together, but I really like the look of that!

I would want 29" wheels though....... And they take my type of cycle to work vouchers

The picture doesn’t match the words. The pic has 2.8 rangers and deore shifters while the words say 2.0 rangers and bar end shifters. Nice looking bike though

Hmmm...I like that too, rear stays quite Stooge-esque? Doesn't look like a 29/700 would fit though
with that rear triangle methinks but a nice bike all the same ( and yes, I know it's a 27.5 but flexibility is good )

It will be available as a frameset once it's in stock (early Nov).



Here's a first geometry chart that we've seen, the currrent one on the web is all over the place, looking at the bike at the Show I'd believe the numbers from the table...

Both bikes have enough clearance for the 27.5x2.8" tyres (I'd squeeze 3" at the back), steel version would accept the 29x3" up front. I don't think the carbon fork from the Ti version would accept anything more than the 27.5x2.8", maybe 3" at a push.

Interesting, those numbers make more sense! Wonder what the pricing will be on the framesets? Any word on the bars too? Also, is the hub spacing boost?

I didn't get a close look of this at the Cycle show but I wonder if they'll have one on display at the Mailbox store in a month or two.
