What full sus 29er for everything?
Well I sold the jones as it wasn't getting used. And I have the ramin plus anyway so there was a big overlap in them both if I'm honest.
But I quite fancy a full sus though I'm still undecided. I do local loops, long days in the countryside (Well I used to hopefully a new bike will get my finger out)
I don't jump at all I keep my wheels fully on the ground, I like climbs as much as going down. So I'm thinking shortish travel but then I want to be able to be comfortable in the lakes on the odd occasions I'd go there.
It also has to be a 29er. Budget 2500 ish I'd say. I'd thought of a spark but it might be too race oriented then the fuel ex but that might be too much the other way. Taking a full bottle is a must and decent tyre clearances too
Bloody bikes. Any suggestions
I did think about a plus 29 front wheel for the ramin and a set of suitable forks tbh but I think I'd struggle with non boost forks to fit the plus tyres in

Cotic Flare Max? 29er or 27.5+ But might struggle to get it within your budget.
I've a Salsa Spearfish but getting hold of a frame is like finding hen's teeth

I picked up an Ibis Ripley for £2,500.
Really nice bike. Climbs so well on technical stuff and descends like a magic carpet.

Scott Spark, Trek Fuel. Both offer various setups to keep your wallet away from an upset.
Especially the Fuel. Superbly balanced bike. As close as it gets to do it all imo.

How tall are you?
Have an array of frames that may suit.

I bought a Transition Smuggler frame like this https://www.merlincycles.com/transition ... 94536.html from Merlin earlier this year at a big discount. Built it up with bargain Fox 34s from Germany, a mix of xt and slx, Exotic carbon bars (really nice and super-light), a Brand X dropper and Arch wheels for a smidge over £2k. It’s very, very good as an all-rounder - pedals well, rides fast/lumpy/techy stuff like it has a lot more travel than it does and, most importantly, feels fun.

I'd looked at those as the nx build was available on budget but the reviews were poor. Basically frame was great but kit was a let down and I can't afford higher end models.
I'll keep thinking cheers

My 2015 Giant Anthem X 29er has got me round several big rides in style, and a quick google shows a recent model at or near your price bracket:

Whyte T129 is a good all-rounder. A couple of mates ride them and like them a lot. You can get the RS version with XT everything for around your price band if you shop around: https://www.hargreaves-cycles.co.uk/m1b ... 29-RS-2017

I got it from Biketreks in Ambleside.
It's this one in fact: https://www.bike-treks.co.uk/1171897/pr ... build.aspx
Not the best build, but all functional kit.

Re: What full sus 29er for everything?
Spearfish would be my answer too.
As it happens I have a large frame to rehome.
PM me if interested. Have forks and some other bits too.
Only parting with it as I have another one too!

My Trek Fuel 29er covers most bases - I've used it in the Alps, on longer rides in the Beacons and TBH it would probably be fine for bike packing if I didn't have a hardtail

Some good ideas cheers . I'm a medium I'd say unfortunately so a large would be too big. :( I'll keep procrastinating lol

They are nice but alas not 29
Re: What full sus 29er for everything?
I thought they were - must have looked at tyre/rim specs (i29).
Were older models 29er?
