Freehub explosion.

Freehub failure.
This happened last night on the South Downs. Going up a very steep section.
The pawls are all free and clean apart from bits of broken metal mush. They seem undamaged but I have't tried removing them.
Blew a hole through the hub. Carl Gustaf style. Unrepairable.
Anyone had a similar incident? I need to get a new wheel asap but need to make sure that I get a wheel where it will never happen again.
Anyone made a similar warranty claim? Mavic wheel from Hargroves Cycles. It is a long way from me so can't get there.
