North to south Scotland route including cairngorms

Post by Ringo »

I saw this route somewhere, I can't remember where I saw it or where it started from but it was near Thurso I think. Does anyone here know of it or have I imagined it??? Very grateful for any help :-bd

Anybody on here ridden this route yet? Looks a bit more interesting than the standard JOGLE road; any need for fatter tyres, or is it all road bike friendly?

Five of my road Club pals completed the LWD a fortnight ago. It is road, not gravel. I joined them for the final leg South Queensferry to Coldstream to be a domestique. They completed it in 24 hours on the dot. We* trained by doing 200k, 300k and 400k audaxs in the preceding months, the 300 and 400 being the longest anyone in the group had done up until that point. (* I didn't do the full LWD cos I couldn't sort out the logistics of starting in Tongue.)
