Best way back to Knighton from Dovey on BH Monday

Post by Mbnut »

I a mildly debating doing the TCW early Monday, depending on how the predicted hangover from Saturday night goes.

What is the best way back, is it to suck it up and ride? That idea fills me with horror if I've just pedalled my arse of getting there!

Trains seem convoluted and still leave me a pedal.

Anyone fancy doing it west to east Monday? Then there'd be vehicles at either end and a friendly face about half way though.

Leave car in Shrewsbury (don't know where), get train to Knighton, do the TCW, get train back to Shrewsbury. I did it like this but actually got the train from home so didn't need the car.

Good thinking that Bob...

I just checked trains again and I can actually do it pretty easy.

Now all that is needed is self restraint and motivation.

Doesn't look great on either of those fronts!

I left car a Shrewsbury also - that means you only need one train to get to and from the start and don’t need to worry about connections
Worked OK for me

I rode back on the road slowly the day after I did it. It was a nice ride, would've been great on a road bike! It's not at all like doing the TCW twice, it's much, much easier! Although the first climb up the mountain is a good one...
