After the WRT I found a short 1 inch split in the sidewall of my front tyre. WTB Bridger 3.0. I remember crossing a field at some point where some big sturdy thistles had been topped. The remaining woody stems sticking up made quite a crunch when ridden over and I think it was one of these that did the damage. Anyway, there's a tiny leak at the split and I don't think I can trust the tyre not to burst, so a replacement is needed.
A new Bridger is around £40. Is there anything better at that price point? I don't have enough experience to tell a good tyre from a bad one, except maybe looking at the spec. weight.
Is there a better tyre for the money?

You could do worse than a Maxxis Chroicle. On eBay for £47 in 27.5
I use the 29+ version for all but the sloppiest conditions

I like the WTB Ranger in 3". Not quite as aggressive as the Bridger but still plenty of grip.
The 'comp' version sometimes comes up very cheaply and will work tubeless or the TCS version is available for just under £40.

I thought of this, but I'd never be confident that it wouldn't let go at the worst possible moment. So a new tyre is called for. With that in mind, I've ordered the one suggested by Stu earlier - the price is good.htrider wrote:Super glue a bit of old tyre across the cut
