Mike, we went Oban to Craigmure and it was £22 for van and 2 adults, then came off Mull from Tobermory to Corran (sp.) for about £8. Twas cheap compared to Channel or Ireland ferries.

The ferry subsidies have been recently extended. Support comes from the Scottish Govt. The scheme is called RET and is supposed to represent how much it would cost to drive that same distance if it were all on land.

I live in the Trossachs and got my first three bites in the garden yesterday evening. Not quite west coast, but they've definitely arrived.

Ouch - I take it that is some sort of euphamism !! I know the lasies talk about their "gardens"!!

On a plus not, no midges down here in Devon! Just bites from the cider
