Unusual jobs of the day!

Post by smartay »

Hi All

So this morning so far have been mortaring up a hole below my garage roof tiles that a very persistent/ determined couple of sparrows are intending to make into their marrital home.
So while the mortar drys out before building up a little more and have a coffee to warm hands around i wondered what other unusual jobs everyone else is doing today
Yes i know i could have used expanding foam as passers by have mentioned, but hay traditional. job

So whats everyone up to on the unusual front

I'm just finishing making / fitting a hanging shelf that looks like part of a ships rigging. Actually, it's not that unusual in this place.

I'm making a bowling cage in our lab, so I can mount a free hanging cricket bat, so I can fire balls at it at 120kph, so that I can help someone film it with high speed cameras.

Science can be fun sometimes.

Learning Jurassic palaeontology data wrangling in Spotfire - new one on me.... :-bd :geek:

Then having a go at tubeless tyre set up on the 29er this evening for the first time.... tyres are ridiculously tight (Schwalbe NNs on Sun Ringle rims) so I suspect getting the up and sealed will be a doddle :o

I classified a point set and then used it to create Voronoi polygons. I then clipped these with the exterior ring of the point set and used a union query to arrive at a set polygon boundaries. You're yawning but Sheffield Council will be pleased.

My unusual job for the day was trying to sign up for self-assessment on the government website and ending up in endless loops. Sigh

I'm watching you Mariner!

Strange really, garden is full of various bird feeders containing various bird feeds, but they should know their boundaries
Then in the afternoon fantastic walk around the Clwyds, still drifts on paths knee, thigh deep.

Should really be setting out slab base for greenhouse today, but guest it's snowed!

Today has been a herding cats type of day...

The rest of the day was spent platting fog...

If you've worked with crane drivers you will know what I mean

John, if you have need for a good crane driver (or a company with a good crane driver) they do exist, I know one. Happy to put you in touch.

It was rubbish, they have now removed a non existent (dealt with 6 months ago and never realised they'd been in that cupboard) mouse infestation from my home report though and the flat will be on the market shortly!
