Ermmm, pick one of them or all of them?!

Last few years in North Wales have seemed like summer in late April and May. This is when we've had drier springs with more stable weather (it's all relative mind) which seems then to break in June and July and the so called summers have been a bit wetter and less stable.... might just be the impression I've had but the drier trails have always seemed to be in late spring and early summer. But this year could be completely different

Bivi'd near BBT night before my first WRT and tarp and water bottle froze up....

It's the UK. It varies.

Probably not 40C though.

Variable is very much the order of the day. As Mark says, it 'feels' like the best weather has come in April / May for the last few years but that might just be a feeling rather than reality. Something else you need to consider is 'where in Wales?' ... it's not big but it is diverse. The weather can be quite different from one valley to the next, so while the coast could be bathing in sunshine, the mountains and higher ground could be awful. Expect night time temps to always be lower than forecast away from the coast.

These arms were the product of summer arriving unexpectedly early ... I recall it was a Thursday.



If you wait for the weather, you'll never ride in Wales

Last year the weather wasn't too bad. From memory Saturday was quite pleasant and a touch windy, Sunday was even windier but temp was OK, Monday was less windy but it rained. Overall pretty good!

I suspect the best tactic will be to throw everything I have in the car and decide on the day.
