5/5/18. 257.2lb down 2.8lb :-bd

That's a lot, but its week 1 and there'll be a good bit of water in that especially as I've been trying low carb.

01/01 73.6kg
05/01 72.4kg

Just cut out all junk, alcohol and added 2 short lunch runs* the days I am in the office...give it a few weeks and things will start going wrong when I build a bit of muscle back up which is heavier than the fat was

*knee finally ok for jogging after 14 months off :-bd

Well its a start!!! And heh just worked out if I lose just 1 lb a week, this time next year I will have lost over 3.5 stone!! That should help on the hills!! Imagine if I lost 2lb a week - I would be a racing snake!!
Having a dry January and cutting out all the high and medium sugars - i.e. not having foods with more than 5g of carbohydrate that is sugars per 100g (doctors orders as diabetic so do need to!!).

Keep it up groovers!

Good stuff :-bd

Yeh mh24 I think the long term is hard to comprehend until you put continued small successes into the context of a year like that.

Similarly just one bag of crisps a day for a year could be 15lbs worth of calories (assume 3000cal for a lb fat) you don't need.

Small gains (losses) add up. They are also easier to maintain in the long run as your body doesn't react in the same way as crash diets which, while having a sexy headline - "I lost 20Kg in a month!" don't result in long term weight loss.

Look at it from a different perspective: when were you last at your target weight? For most this is going to be ten or more years ago. Your body has become accustomed over that time to your new weight, losing it all in a couple of months might not be the best strategy. Lose 6Kg (a stone) this year and 6Kg next

05-1-18 - 111kg or 244.5lbs
12-1-18 110.5kg or 243.6lbs
19-1-18 110kg or 242.5lbs
07-02-18 110kg or 242.5lbs
20-03-18 109.5kg or 241.5lbs

Goal is 90kg (198lbs) by the end of the year.

Route to weight loss:

- Keto (more realistically just general LCHF)
- no beer at home (and I don't go out much - once every two weeks or so).
- ride more
- run more
- ski/board more

Good luck everyone!!!

Lchf/keto here, but not measuring to see if in ketosis, just trying to keep the macros right and trying to get a decent no eating spell overnight and no snacks. Just starting to feel OK on it now, though a bit lacking in power on the bike. 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a big glass of sparkly water has helped with a bit of head ache and tastes OK.

First weigh in ; 234 lbs, quite pleased not much gone on over the festive period,
Still trying low carb, high fat/protein etc, not been out on bike in ages, that's changing from
Next week so exercise will be going up, I'm managing over 10,000 steps nearly every
Day so that must be helping :-bd

Failed last year doing this (along with BAM) so signing up now
Weigh in @ 113 Kg would like to lose 10kg, but concentrating on ‘lifestyle’ changes less booze, less meat and more veg. My daughter is doing Vegan January so i’ll eat the same as her when I’m home. More biking less Ipad
Work away a lot so try and avoid the bar and hit the gym or go for a run. When it gets lighter I’ll take the bike too

Aim to be back under 100kg and into low 90s by year end - same as last year but the wheels really fell off for lots of reasons for the last 6 months.

5.1.18 - 111.5kg
12.1.18 - 109.6kg - I'd like to say I'm down a cup size on the moobs but I haven't measured (or cupped them)
19.1.18 - 108.7kg - slow progress but still progress - first main goal just another ~8 weeks away ;-)
