Re: Fatfighters 2018 Weigh-in Thread
Well done to everyone who's still going at the 12 week point!
I'm happy to report a 4lb loss.
Down from 17st 5lb to 17st 1lb.
So hopefully next week's report will show me weighing 16st something and that will be my first time below 17st in around 7 or 8 years.

Re: Fatfighters 2018 Weigh-in Thread
I've not been joining in this thread, but should have...
Last November 2nd I frit myself when I weighed in at 16st 13.6lb / 107.5kg Not my worst which was 17st 5lb /110kg, Christmas '16,but absolutely not acceptable.
As of this morning I was 14st 10.4lb /93.5 kg
This is the lightest I've been in probably 20 years, and I'm not finished yet, it's a work in progress :)

27/01/2018 - 66.8kg (-0.2kg)
10/02/2018 - 67.3kg (+0.5kg) - Given I came back from Barcelona 3kg heavier, this isn't as bad as it looks!
17/02/2018 - 67.0kg (-0.3kg) - This was actually looking better than this, but I had a celebratory Chinese meal yesterday...
03/03/2018 - 66.7kg (-0.3kg)
24/03/2018 - 65.9kg (-0.8kg)
Now no exercise in over a month. All my hard earned muscle is gone, and I'd hate to imagine how much cycling fitness I've lost. :(

Re: Fatfighters 2018 Weigh-in Thread
Im taking a long term view of changing habits that are bad for ones that are better. Good to read about how others are managing this.
Weight: 85.4kg. Approx 4kg loss since start of the year.
Cheers

Re: Fatfighters 2018 Weigh-in Thread
Cheers guys, yep, its a long term 'project' for me too. Lifetime habits take a while to change, but its worth it.
Not being able to exercise doesn't help, but let's be honest, for most of us the exercise isn't the issue and sustained endurance exercise can make you hungrier.
Most would say 80-90% of weight loss is in the food we eat, or don't. Not eating sugar, refined flours and drinking booze of often enough to make a very big long term change. Even quarter of a pound a week could be not far off a stone in a year! In theory with cal in/cal out calculatiosn (flawed!) that could just mean 125cal less a day, where could you 'save' 125cals?

Re: Fatfighters 2018 Weigh-in Thread
I have a chart of the first 12 weeks, but don't seem to be able to upload it. I can't upload worksheets/spreadsheets and a screen shot of it is too small to see any detail.
Any ideas? Or maybe you're not bothered?

Re: Fatfighters 2018 Weigh-in Thread
I lift weights. Annoyingly I can visibly see just how much muscle I've lost... and I didn't have a lot to play with to start with. :(Moder-dye wrote:Cheers guys, yep, its a long term 'project' for me too. Lifetime habits take a while to change, but its worth it.

Re: Fatfighters 2018 Weigh-in Thread
You've lost muscle while lifting and losing weight? How much deficit have you been going for, are you getting enough protein?
I've been lifting once a week (HIT low rep high weight) and/or doing dips and chins in the shed and even though I've lost 3 stone in 3 months I've not lost strength on lifts and obviously I've gained reps on the dips and chins. FTP has gone up too. I'm 48 next month, so definitely in the use it or lose muscle time of life.
I'm eating 1.2-1.4g of protein per kg of body weight and 10 cals per pound of body weight. If you're lifting and eating enough protein you shouldn't really be losing muscle unless massively under feeding...

Re: Fatfighters 2018 Weigh-in Thread
I am interested but lack the know how to help. There are a few computer whizzes on this site. Maybe a post on the subject would get their input?
Re: Fatfighters 2018 Weigh-in Thread
Yeh, a separate post will probably be the thing. I know I could share with people like a cloud link but seems daft when its essentially just a graph to show. I'll ask a tech guy at work today firstpushbikemike wrote:I am interested but lack the know how to help. There are a few computer whizzes on this site.
