Fat fighters 2018

Post by Moder-dye »

Thought I'd start a new thread for 2018, but if Norway Calling (or any if the other 2017 members)is planning a rebooted one feel free to delete this.

So, an easy round figure of 260lb to start the year off for me. 18lb mire than this time last year, not my heaviest ever, but not too far off.

Goal of 180 seems daunting, 200 is more feasible given my build and that I was that around 30 when I was pretty athletic build.

Taken from last year...

1. Post your starting weight and any other dimensions you fell like sharing.
2. Weights will be recorded every 2 weeks, Friday morning is what I am thinking (but its up to you).
3. Some idea of what you would like to achieve would be nice (i.e. I would like to loose 20 cm from around my gut and 10 kg in weight)
4. Update your original post with your new weight every 2 weeks and see how it goes (add a new line per entry. GOING TO MAKE IT WEEKLY NOW

1/1/2018. 260lb

Cool  I can start a spread sheet if people want?
I'm using my fitness pal to record my details anyway as its good to get in the habit of recording food and exercise too.

Count me in for 2018, I am tipping my hat in at 129.7kg, just shy of 286 lbs. I am wanting to get down to 110kg this year (242lbs) weigh in for me is going to be a Friday morning, my first day off. Non scale victory is to cycle my commute home in 1hr 40 mins, currently at 2 hours.

Wishing everyone loads of luck.

OK, lets say Friday for weigh-ins? Means if you have a daft weekend you've got some time to make amends not like Monday mornings.

First weigh-in for Friday 12th Jan, but just whenever close to that that works for you

I'll be in on this again... that said, I'm not going to weigh myself until at least a week after I'm back from my holiday. Really can't face seeing the number as high as I suspect it's got!

Im in this year, had to shave off the last bit and get down to my target weight of 180lbs, down from 283 three years ago. YoYoed a bit last year but in a good place at the moment so the last 20lbs should be doable but race season :)
So weighted myself this morning at 206.5 thats with a bit of crimbo belly :)

Good luck all :) :-bd

Oh god, I'd better join....

I'm the heaviest I've ever been (been a roller coaster year or two) but feeling the need to do something about it.

I'm starting from this am.

01.01.18
112.5kg

I've no idea what that is in old money and happy not to know...

I weighed in this morning as Mondays always works for me.
18st 6lb or 258lb or 117kg
Waist measurement is 50" and chest is 48"
100kg would be a nice round figure for me.
Goal is to eat less/better and ride my bike every day of the year.

Yes - time for someone else to attempt to heard-the-cats :-bd Thank you.

I lost (and maintained) 5.1 kg in 2017 doing this, so will again have another go this year.

Thanks to Mike for getting the whole thing underway last year and to all those embarking upon the voyage this year ... just remember, you're not on a 'diet', you're hopefully attempting to change your lifestyle / habits for good. Short term weight loss is pretty easy but ultimately futile, try to find something that you can happily maintain for the rest of your life without feeling that you're 'going without' or in some way 'punishing' yourself. Aim to find a new 'normal' and good luck :-bd

I'm in

1/1/18 79.4 kg

My aim is to lose my middle aged spread by my 50th birthday (22nd Dec '18), by hopefully changing (some long held) habits.
I was given a Fitbit for Christmas, which is interesting as it's showing actual not perceived activity!

Good luck all :-bd

I'm in. I'll weigh myself this afternoon and post the relevant details later.

It's worth pointing out that my goals go beyond just my weight. Obviously I want to lose weight, hopefully get rid of the man boobs and beer gut, but also, I'd like to:
* improve my diet to include more fruit and veg - I love cooking, but unfortunately I love cooking very rich good. I need to stop watching Master Chef and start eating simpler meals with higher veg and fruit content.
* stay off the cigarettes completely - Travelling with work and having a stressful job doesn't half test the reformed smoker and every now and again I buckle. I'm hoping to put and end to that!
* cut down on my alcohol intake - I don't drink heavily by any stretch, but still, skipping that odd glass of wine in an evening might help.

OK the first numbers are in:

87.2 kg or 192.2 lb

Ideally, I'd like to drop about 10 kg in total, so a 12 month target weight of 77 kg

Good stuff fellow BBers and I hope it's going well.

Right, I've decided that I need more encouragement than weigh-in once a fortnight, so I'm going to weekly with first weigh-in this Friday 5th! If that doesn't work for you don't worry, just post your weight and date when you do do it. Obviously some late starters won't have had much chance to make a difference, but they'll catch up.

I've started a spreadsheet, but I'm still needing a start weight from GairyM, Richard G and JustChris. When you post you weight and date I'll add them.

I've managed fine so far trying the low carb high fat route, but being off work still makes it easier. I just hope it shows on Friday!

I'll post a new thread on friday just to use for weigh-ins. Feel free to use this one for any discussion :-bd

EDIT: added you Ootini
