Any links to power chargers that people would recommend for a weeks use

Lightweight for its capacity

Always have one hooked up to the dynamo hub if I'm on the Surly - even at slower overall speeds it always seems to trickle enough charge into it over the course of a day that I've always got at least one fully powered. Add into that the occasional cafe/pub stop and it's plenty for keeping phone/Garmin/lights charged.

Where are you going?

I have been very happy with my Anker solar panel. I also have their power banks, headphones and speaker.

Can't fault their gear for the cost.... I'm rarely a fanboy of any brand but as of yet Anker gear has proved to be excellent.


That said the Zendure power packs look good, the Ground Zero stuff has constantly disappointed, bloody expensive too.

Big +1 for the MU travel charger. Not cheap, but a really good piece of kit. There's a half price offer on for 4 atm if anyone fancies clubbing together? I'd have another one at this price-

I'd always carry the MU, i've seen too many dyno set-up problems- broken cables, water ingress, etc not to even consider it as a back-up. Was my only way of charging when riding the Spanish C2C earlier this year, just got to remember as first job to do at cafe stops! Much quicker than a dyno too, 30-60mins (longer when possible) per day charging power-packs, which were then used to re-charge phone/Garmin in the eve was enough..

FWIW, I have also had decent experiences with Anker powerbanks. Less so with dynamo hubs, having used both SON and SP, my conclusion is good for on-road, or fast gravel, but very disappointing on extended off-road trails, and that's before you factor in vulnerability to failures. And on Alpine routes with extended climbs, the lack of output on the long slow climbs is not compensated on the short fast descents.

How does that work - do you take two input cables and plug it into two domestic electricity sockets simultaneously?

Yes, two individual chargers, or a multi-output charger and two cables from charger to pack.
I have an Anker four port travel charger.

To fast charge the iPhone (well, certainly my iPhone X) one requires an output with USB PD (power delivery)
There is an Anker pack with a USB-C PD output.
Also require a USB-C to Lightning cable. They are Apple only and either £25 for 1metre, or £35 for 2metre

Bugger, I was after one of the Mu international duo chargers myself. I actually thought I'd bought one last week for £18 but it turned out just to be the British one-port one so it's going back

£68 for 4 is £17 each, plus postage (however you want it sending - up to you if you want it delivered by a cheerful man in a red van, rushed to you atop a velvet cushion, or thrown over your hedge by an underpaid courier sometime in January).

Interesting that the international mu charger is the double port that they are selling.

The one I have is the international charger with one fast charge port.
