I see there is a town nearby at the 75km mark, but not much else. I'm assuming there is tons of water about everywhere I can filter, but what about food?

Any places to mark down on my list of possible stops?

Will be interesting to see what people suggest, because I've covered most of this area and there's VERY little.

Elan valley visitor centre if you're quick.

I think I'm gonna carry a shed load of food with me for this one...

I can't see many people getting to that garage before it's closed.

For those who are taking it steady/slow.

Trout Inn at Beulah is a 3 mile round trip off the route and comes just after 66 miles. Then you could ride up to the bothy at the top end of the Caerwen resevoir (15-ish miles) sleep for a bit and then have 50 or so miles to cover on Sunday.

If you're going a fair bit faster.

Miners Arms in Pont-Rhyd-Y-Groes after 95 miles, and then go and have a sleep in Nant Syddion.

Hi ctznsmith - Is that actually a bothy? Can't find any info about it apart from a forum saying it is a house? Might be quite convenient for me at my speed...

Claerwen http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=282140 ... &A=Y&Z=120 is a farm (and house), Claerddu is the bothy http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=279265 ... &A=Y&Z=120

Caerwen IS A FARM. The bothy is Claerddu further along. Without knowing it's location, you're likely to waste a good hour or so trying to locate it ... time better spent riding slowly

EDIT: Claerddu comes around 130km in, if you were looking for a roof, I'd probably press on to Syddion (you almost ride past the door) at 160km and give yourself a much better Sunday.

2nd edit: If the present forecast is to be believed, pressing on into the night should lead to less time riding in the rain on Sunday :-bd

Way too early to be second-guessing the weather; do you have too many people on the start list?
