Speedball

Post by HopeValleyPaul »

Pre orders for the stooge speedball opened today.
http://stoogecycles.co.uk/product/steel ... posit-799/

I've been riding a Krampus with a rohloff for a few years now, which I love, it's a lot of fun it's also idiot proof. I've tried various drop outs with the QR rohloff and have ended up using a chain tensioner because that's been the easiest to use for me.

The EBB on the speedball lookslike it will be a winner for me, mainly it just looks ace. I'm assuming it's the same/similar geo to the standard stooge (BB is a touch lower and chainstays are a touch longer I think?)

Should I replace my krampus with a speedball?

It will mainly be used for fannying arround in the Peak District and the occasional longer trip (2-3 days)

Help me find a way to justify n+1

I've currently got Andy's Ti Speedball for testing only got around 70miles on it so far but what I can say is it's a very nice bike to ride, totally different to my Stooge Cycles 29er and looks stunning it really gets a lot of attention, I have to allow an extra 30mins on my rides to stop and natter to folk about it.

If it helps I've ordered one, the shiny model though!

I would be interested in how you attach front 'bar bags' with a truss fork.
Do you mount on the truss or still hang from the bars?
Will any bag work or is there an optimum design?
Might it even be possible to tuck a bag in behind the truss?
Zazen - nothing happens next this is it.
