Badger Divide?

Post by Chew »

Someone who I road the Second City with last year is interested in doing the Badger Divide.

A recommendation route or will I be underwhelmed again?

What do you think it will be like? What are your expectations? Hard to answer "Will it be as good as I think/hope otherwise". It's not technical, flowing singletrack, if that's what you mean.

I've ridden pretty much it all just not in one go yet. I think it's a great route with a bit of everything. Some really nice scenery. There are 2 versions going around. The one that the Scot duro event done and the original that has a couple of slightly more chunky options.

I did it N to S in 3 1/2 days last September, it was great fun, but that was a bit quick to “enjoy” the scenery. We did a first day that was too big, so ended up coming down Corriyarack in the dark (I’m a mountain biker so loved that, roadie-based friends not so much 😂). There are a few sections where the going is unpleasant on a gravel bike with 45mm, otherwise it’s not v technical.
