Ripstop by the Roll purchase premium in the UK?

Post by ergaster »

Has anyone in the UK purchased from Ripstop by the Roll recently?

If so, would you please mind sharing an example of your order cost and the actual cost by time you received it after shipping, tax, etc?

I'm probably going to end up purchasing anyway, as I haven't found comparable materials elsewhere, and just don't want to feel like I've had my pants pulled down.

Cheers.

Not recently (but it was after the new VAT rules were introduced). Delivery time was 15 days, 12 days from order to shipping, 3 days to then get to me. The order was $96 ($73 for goods and $23 shipping) and I think I paid £20 duty, VAT and release fee on top of that, would need to dig out the carrier's email to confirm.

Thanks whitestone. I was bracing myself for 30% so that's in the ballpark.

Did you find the gear as advertised? Happy to buy from there again?

So far I've only purchased from profabrics.co.uk. It's been good to practice my sewing but when compared to international sites such as

https://www.extremtextil.de/en/

Or RSBR they don't seem to have the lightest materials.

Everything came through as per order so yes, I'd be happy to use RSBTR again.

Extremtextil will only deliver to the UK if your order is over £136 (again due to the VAT rules). Don't know what RSBTR do with big orders but they are pretty responsive to questions.
