Bar bag support

I’ve had one of the small acepac bags from stu on the gravel commuter for a while now and love how convenient it is.
This had me lusting after the swift industries saddle bags to mount on the bars for bike packing duties on less technical routes. The eye watering prices meant it would be a pretty expensive experiment.

So an eBay hunt has got me a Carradice Super C saddle bag for £30 to see if I like it.
I’ve made a bar support by stitching some webbing on the bottom. The support itself is made from a bit of old walking pole, two 16mm p-clips and £12 worth of Tubus rack spares ‘inspired’ by the Fabios chest pec-deck.

Anyway, not used in anger yet, but rather chuffed with it:

Cunning... no rack base needed, just the lower supported by the struts with the bag hanging from the bars? I like that.

Sadly like all good ideas nicked from other greater minds - google Fabio’s chest peck deck (edit don’t do that  throws up some alarming exercise videos). There is a very entertaining YouTube video: https://youtu.be/L1CTNlwpPzU

All about triangulation don’t you know...

And it’s working well - no wobble and stayed solid down a very bumpy single track diversion earlier this week.
