4 cableties and 4 bits of gaffertape. Performed faultlessly for two years now. Cost about 5p and weighs around 13g.

Made this last year, slightly impressed with solid load carrying not effecting handling..
Support from polly pipe & electrical conduit simples.

Heh heh, well I think we have two ends of the scale for you to choose from there  . Come to think of it mine actually is a cradle rather than a harness.

How big a bag do you want to strap on? If you were looking at the Salsa one have you considered the Gfunk bar clamps with a strap deck? Considerably cheaper than the Salsa option.

I’m using Alpkit Confucius bars so my bar bag is well away from the cables

My harness in used AK Airlock 20l (?) bag. No flex, swap done seem to affect handling.. :-bd

Its similar to mine above, except I built in a like AK Kanga harness/ support.
If I made, again I'd select lighter materials. But as, a concept its great. Such as lining in 2 oz nylon & add oxford /codura strips not through out...
